Founded in 1999, the San Benito Stage Company is a non-profit performing arts association dedicated to producing local musical and theatrical workshops, plays, and performances. Its goal is to provide high-quality live entertainment for the entire community of San Benito County, while developing performing arts skills for its members.

The Board meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Chamber of Commerce office. Anyone interested in becoming more involved is invited to attend. Meetings are usually at 6:30.

Board Members:

Amelia Souza-Hatcher, President
Amelia, her husband Steve and three sons have been involved with San Benito Stage Company since 2001 with The Sound of Music. Since then, she has volunteered behind the scenes in over 30 community theater productions in the areas of producing, costuming, props, marketing,  membership, lobby support and more. She has been a director on the board for 3 years."I have personally seen the benefits of performing arts for participants of all ages, especially children. I am proud to serve an organization that offers so much to the community."

Becky Miser, Secretary
Becky Miser has taught private classical piano lessons for 35 years.  She and her family have lived in the San Juan Valley for 27 years.  She served as show production pianist at Monte Vista High School from 2002 – 2008.  Recently she has enjoyed vocal direction and accompaniment with two SBSC teen shows and the Wizard of Oz.  Becky is committed to the education, entertainment and relationship building that community theater offers and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the SBSC.

Patricia Whalen, Treasurer

Bryn Calderon
Bryn has been involved with the San Benito Stage Company for 4 years in which she has performed in several shows.  She joined the Board of Directors this year and is excited about the upcoming shows and direction of the Stage Company.  Bryn also works for the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce and loves community events and especially community theater.

Matt Romiti
Matt has been involved with the stage company since the 2008 production for The Wizard of Oz.  In real life Matt is a father of two wonderful girls and husband to a supportive wife.  He began his involvement with SBSC for his daughter and continued to be involved with several other shows learning lighting. As a teacher, he believes that the arts’ being removed from schools is disappointing, and SBSC’s mission to keep theater in the community for all to enjoy is important for the betterment of the students and families alike.

Sean McEachin
Sean is a very busy parent of four, and devoted husband.  He dedicates his time to volunteering throughout the community.  He coaches several sports for the Hollister Recreation department, supports the local council for the BSA as a Cub master and Den leader, and is part of the drama ministry with his church, First Presbyterian of Hollister. As a 10 year military war veteran and an Eagle Scout himself, he is dedicated to making the SBSC as good as it can be and then some.  Sean has worked on several sets designs and builds for the past year and a half and looks forward to many years to come.
